RV Propane Quick Connect Kit
RV Propane Quick Connect Kit
Run your grill off the tank you already haul. The RV Quick Connect Kit plugs your HitchFire grill into your RV or travel trailer's onboard propane through its regulated, low-pressure outlet. No 1 lb bottles. No second tank riding in the bay.
The kit swaps in two new valves rated at 10,000 BTU each, for up to 20,000 BTU on the F-20 or the Forge 15. On a Forge 15 that's a jump from 15,000. More heat for a hard sear, and more headroom when the wind picks up.
- (2) valves, rated 10,000 BTU each
- (2) 24" quick-connect hoses
- (1) 12-foot quick-connect hose
- (1) brass Y-fitting
- (2) brass quick-connect fittings for the temperature control valves
- (2) regulators that fit the new valves, for 1 lb propane bottles
- Swap the valves. Pull the knobs, remove the faceplate screws and lift out the grill's valve assembly. Seat the two new valves with their outlets in the burner tubes.
- Connect the hoses. Join the valves to the brass Y-fitting with the 24" quick-connect hoses, then run the 12-foot hose to your RV's low-pressure outlet.
- Light it. Open the valve, light the burners, cook.

No need to swap the valves back. Unscrew the brass quick-connect fitting, screw on the included regulator, and the grill runs on standard 1 lb bottles again. Off the RV, onto the truck.
Your RV's regulator drops tank pressure way down before it reaches the outlet. The quick-connect side of this kit is built for that regulated, low-pressure line. Do not connect it to an unregulated, high-pressure source. For 1 lb bottles, use the included regulators.
- HitchFire F-20 and Forge 15 grills
- RVs, motorhomes, travel trailers and fifth wheels with a regulated, low-pressure LP outlet
- Output: up to 20,000 BTU (2 valves x 10,000 BTU)
- Hoses: (2) 24" and (1) 12-foot, quick-connect
- Fuel: RV onboard propane (regulated, low pressure), or 1 lb bottles with the included regulators
- Power: none required

Why a regular grill runs weak on RV propane.
Your RV's propane quick connect and a grill's propane hookup run at different pressures. Here's what that means for dinner.
Low pressure, already regulated
Your rig's regulator drops tank pressure way down before it feeds the stove, furnace and exterior LP port.
Built for a tank, not the rig
It expects a high-pressure tank and carries its own regulator. On the RV port that means gas regulated twice: weak flame, no searing heat.
Built for the low-pressure side
Two new 10,000 BTU valves and quick-connect fittings made for the RV's regulated line. Full output off the tank you already haul, on the F-20 or the Forge 15.
For regulated, low-pressure propane sources only. Not for unregulated, high-pressure sources.
RV propane to grill in three steps.
No tools at the campsite. No bottles to swap.
-
Swap the valves
Pull the knobs, remove the faceplate screws and swap the grill's valve assembly for the two new 10,000 BTU valves.
-
Connect the hoses
Join the valves to the brass Y-fitting with the 24" hoses, then run the 12-foot hose to your RV's low-pressure outlet.
-
Light it
Open the valve, light the burners, cook. Unplug and stow the hose when you roll.
Motorhome, trailer or fifth wheel.
If your rig has an LP quick-connect port, the kit plugs in. Here's what to check for each.
Motorhomes
Class A, Class C and Super C. Plug into the exterior LP quick-connect and mount the grill on your 2" rear receiver. Flat-towing a car? That receiver is already spoken for.
Travel trailers
Tap the trailer's onboard tanks through its quick-connect port. Mount to the trailer's rear receiver so the tow hitch stays free. Some bumper receivers are rated for light loads only, so check yours.
Fifth wheels and toy haulers
The kingpin hitches in the truck bed, so the rig's frame-mounted rear receiver is free for the grill. Toy haulers: check ramp clearance before you mount.
Before you order
- An exterior LP quick-connect port on the regulated, low-pressure side
- A HitchFire F-20 or Forge 15, or the RV Grill Bundle
- To mount the grill: a 2" rear receiver, frame-mounted and rated to carry weight

Good to know.
Yes, if your rig has an LP quick-connect port on the regulated, low-pressure side. The kit is not for unregulated, high-pressure sources. Not sure what you have? Send us a photo of the port and we'll confirm.
Not directly. A standard grill is built for a high-pressure tank and carries its own regulator. Plug it into the RV's low-pressure port and you're regulating gas that's already been regulated, which gets you a weak flame that won't hold temperature. The RV Quick Connect Kit is built for the low-pressure side, so your HitchFire grill gets full output.
A propane tank holds high pressure. Your RV's regulator drops it to low pressure, around 11 inches of water column, before it feeds the stove, furnace and quick-connect port. Anything you plug into that port has to be built for low pressure. That's the job this kit does.
The HitchFire F-20 and Forge 15. The kit swaps in two 10,000 BTU valves on either grill, so both run up to 20,000 BTU. On a Forge 15 that's a jump from 15,000.
No. The grill runs off the tank your rig already carries. Heading off the RV? Unscrew the brass quick-connect fitting, screw on the included regulator and it runs on standard 1 lb bottles. No need to swap the valves back.
On a 2" rear receiver that's frame-mounted and rated to carry weight, not just tow. On a fifth wheel the kingpin hitches in the truck bed, so the rig's rear receiver is free. See the RV grill setup and the fifth wheel and travel trailer setup.
Often, yes. Many parks that ban wood and charcoal fires still allow propane appliances. Rules vary by park and by restriction stage, so check with the campground before you light it.
