HitchFire ships within the United States and Canada. If you live anywhere else, you can still own one — thousands of international buyers order US products every day using a freight forwarder. This page covers exactly how to do it, what we can and can't send, and how to enter your address so the order actually arrives.

How it works

   They give you a US street address and a personal suite or mailbox number.

   Order from hitchfire.com

   Ship to your forwarder's US address and pay with your own card. Your billing address stays your home address.

   They export it

   Your forwarder receives the package, quotes international freight, handles customs paperwork, and delivers to your door.

Forwarders our customers have used include MyUS, Shipito, Stackry, Planet Express and Reship. Many countries also have local forwarders with a US receiving warehouse. We aren't affiliated with any of them and earn nothing from the referral — compare rates for your country before you choose.

Propane cylinders cannot be exported

So these cannot go to a forwarder address:

• The 5 lb Refillable Propane Tank (Gas Growler), with or without case
• 1 lb refillable propane cylinders and refill kits
• Flame King 5, 10, 20, 30 and 40 lb propane tanks
• Any bundle that includes a propane cylinder

Everything else travels fine. The grills themselves ship empty and are not hazardous — no fuel is included with a grill. Hoses, regulators, splitters, swing arms, platforms, cargo boxes, covers and accessories are all exportable.

Buy your cylinder locally once the grill arrives. HitchFire grills use a standard 1 lb or 5 lb propane connection, and hoses with the correct fitting for your country are widely available. If you send a cylinder to a forwarder anyway, they will refuse or dispose of it and we can't refund it.

How to enter your forwarder address

This is where most forwarder orders go wrong, so please read it. Shipping carriers cap each address line at roughly 35 characters. Anything past that gets cut off the printed label — and if your suite number is what gets cut, the warehouse can't match the package to your account.

• Address line 1 — the street address only.
• Address line 2 — your suite or mailbox code on its own, e.g. Ste 12345-6789.
• Abbreviate — Ste not Suite, St not Street, N not North.
• Ignore the address suggestion pop-up if it offers to "correct" your address — it often drops the suite line. Keep what you typed.
• Use your own phone number and email, not the forwarder's, so we can reach you.

Paying with a non-US card

Our checkout accepts cards issued outside the United States. Enter your real home billing address — the one your bank has on file — and your forwarder's US address as the shipping address. The two not matching is normal and expected on a forwarder order.

If your card is declined, it's almost always your bank blocking an unfamiliar international charge, not us. A quick call to approve the transaction usually clears it, and your issuer may also ask you to confirm the payment in your banking app.

We recommend paying by card rather than PayPal for forwarder orders — PayPal's seller and buyer protections generally do not survive a package being re-shipped to a different address than the one on the transaction.

Shipping weights for freight quotes

Forwarders quote on weight and carton size. These are packaged shipping weights — use them to get an estimate before you order. Carton dimensions for any item are available on request.

Ordering several large items? We can palletize the shipment so your forwarder moves it as freight instead of parcels, which is usually cheaper — email sales@hitchfire.com before you order and we'll set it up.

Duties, taxes and customs

You pay US sales tax where applicable at checkout, plus domestic shipping to the forwarder's warehouse. Everything after that — international freight, export documentation, import duty, VAT or GST, brokerage and local fees — is arranged and paid by you through your forwarder.

You and your forwarder are responsible for complying with US export regulations and with the import rules of the destination country.

Terms for forwarder orders

Please read these before ordering. They apply to any order shipped to a freight forwarder, reshipper, export agent or other third party.

• Our responsibility ends at the forwarder. Once your order is delivered to the forwarder's US address it is considered delivered to you. HitchFire is not responsible for loss, damage, theft, shortage or delay after that point.
• Inspect on arrival at the warehouse. Most forwarders photograph incoming packages. Report shipping damage or a missing item within 7 days of the package reaching the warehouse — we can't file a carrier claim after that window.
• Returns must come back to a US address at your cost. We don't issue international return labels and can't accept returns shipped from outside the United States. Our standard return window runs from the date of delivery to the forwarder.
• Warranty is limited to parts. We'll send warranty parts to a US address you provide; we don't cover international freight, duties or labor on warranty claims abroad.
• Products are built to US standards. Fittings, regulators and certifications may not match local requirements in your country. Check before ordering.
• Refused or undeliverable hazardous items are not refundable. See the propane section above.
