More Info →Every meal cooked inside goes into a space you also sleep in. The grease, the smell, the heat, the counter you lose while it is running.
A van grill that lives on a standard 2-inch receiver — usually a factory or aftermarket frame-mounted hitch on a camper van — and stays there between stops. Full-size cooking outside the door, and not one cubic inch of interior storage given up to it.
The swing arm
The patented dual swing arm mounts to your 2-inch receiver and rotates up to 180° on a locking hinge. Swing it out to cook, swing it back to close up — your barn doors or hatch still open all the way.

On the van's receiver, swung out, cooking.
Legs out, freestanding on any flat surface.
The math
You could piece it together. Or get one system that does it all - with the patented swing arm none of the alternatives have.

Best Portable Full-Size Grill of 2026
“The F-20 delivers true full-size grilling performance in a rugged, vehicle-mounted setup. The patented dual swing arm gives full tailgate access while you cook - a genuine engineering win.”

Easy and Convenient
“If you are a grill master who also loves traveling, then the HitchFire F-20 may be exactly what you never knew you needed. Designed for those road trips or overlanding excursions where you don't want to hassle with the effort of setting up a grill.”

Cooks Like a Dream
“The grill is to be the centerpiece of your adventure, it's tough to beat the hitch-mounted capability of this grill. It's portable, smart to use, and cooks meat like a dream. What more do you need?”
F-20 specs shown. The Forge 15 runs the same 355 sq in at 15,000 BTU on cast iron and weighs less - it is the one most van owners pick.
If the van has a standard 2-inch receiver, yes — that covers factory hitches and most aftermarket frame-mounted ones on Sprinter, Transit, Promaster and the usual conversion platforms. Nothing bolts to the body and nothing gets drilled.
Some lighter-duty aftermarket hitches are rated for towing more than for carrying. If you're not sure which yours is, send us the hitch brand and model and we'll check it with you. And if it turns out it doesn't fit, send it back — fast ground shipping both ways, no restocking fee.
It stays mounted. Swing it back in against the van, pin it, and drive — there's nothing to break down, stow or find a cupboard for.
No. The patented dual swing arm rotates up to 180° on a locking hinge, so your barn doors or hatch still open all the way while the grill is running.
Not really. At that rate you're buying and binning bottles constantly. A 5 lb refillable Gas Growler holds about five bottles' worth and tops up at most propane exchanges; if you already carry 1 lb bottles, the Travel Kit refills those from a 20 lb tank instead.
Yes. Lift it off the swing arm and the integrated legs fold out, turning it into a freestanding tabletop grill.
Then you have a real trade-off, and we won't pretend otherwise — only one thing occupies a receiver at a time. A hitch extender clears both on some setups. Email us what rack you're running and we'll tell you whether yours is one of them.
Every HitchFire product carries a 2-year manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, with fast ground shipping from the USA and free returns.
